Service conducted by Rev’d Canon Dr Marian Free.
Sermon given by our guest Bishop William Ray (retired).
100 years ago a member of St Augustine’s was standing on the grounds, or at home talking to family, or just thinking, “Will they remember us?”
We have. We recognise the many things that have happened since then in peoples lives, of which St Augustine’s has been a part.
For our Centenary service we quietly remember all those from past and present.
Together with many, as Christians we uphold the meaning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who promises an eternal Kingdom for those who faith given from God receive forgiveness of sins, who by Christ’s price on the Cross are not imputed with iniquity before Him.
As a War Memorial Church we believe in the reality of iniquity, and the dignity of healing from such tragedy for the sacrifice of others and their freedoms, such as freedom to worship God. To have eternal life is to know God.
