Parish Description

Prayer Space – December 2018

“The Advent Wreath is one traditional way in which the Church marks the time leading up to Christmas. On each of the four Sundays before Christmas an additional candle is lit, with the fifth (white) candle being lit on Christmas Day. The light of the candles represent the light of God coming into the world through the birth of Jesus Christ. In the version of the calendar we have used this year, each week focuses on a different theme: Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. As we add a new light each Sunday we will also add props, prayers and readings reflecting on each theme. Of course you can reflect on any or all of the themes at any time. Our prayer is that whatever your faith, you will find some Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and Light during this festive season.”
