St Augustine’s – A Beautiful Place for a Wedding
A Christian marriage reflects the relationship between Christ and the Church. When a couple marry in the Church they ask for and receive God’s blessing on their union. Welcome and congratulations on your engagement. We wish you both every joy and happiness as you prepare and enter into marriage. We believe God instituted marriage for His purposes and for our good. It is a great gift of God to men and women and we hope that you will come to experience how good it can be. It is our desire to be as helpful as possible and to ensure your wedding day is both meaningful and happy.
The wedding package, (available from our office or download from our website here) contains all you need to know about weddings at St Augustine’s. We are delighted you are considering having your wedding ceremony at St Augustine’s. Please carefully read the information below. The wedding package may vary from time to time, such as changes to Government regulations. The package contains:
A booklet about weddings at St Augustine’s

This is of course as per agreement with us for going ahead on these details.
The remaining amount can be paid a fortnight prior to the wedding. Also as detailed in the package documents, should you wish for the choir to sing at your wedding an additional fee (again, approx. $200 – see our office for current pricing) is payable and remember that Sunday weddings attract a surcharge as mentioned.
NOTICE OF INTENDED MARRIAGE
The Notice of Intent must be signed at least one calendar month BEFORE the wedding and witnessed by the Rector. We suggest that you contact the Parish Office at least four months before your wedding to arrange a pre-wedding appointment with the Rector. This should allow plenty of time to ensure the Notice of Intent is signed in time. Please complete the notice of intent, but DO NOT SIGN, and give this document to the Rector at your pre-wedding interview with copies of your Birth Certificates and at least one Baptism Certificate.
It is a requirement of those marrying at St Augustine’s to attend a pre-marriage course. Please see the Prepare/Enrich Flyer in the wedding package documents.
Please don’t hesitate to call the Office if you have any queries.
You may discuss any aspects of the Marriage service with us, including music, however, we are only able to use “Authorised Services” as set by the Diocese of Brisbane. You will need to arrange a meeting time with our Rector, which in the past has been on Thursday nights. This could change though.
Have you considered hiring the Lawns for post-ceremony celebrations? St. Augustine’s Church does not have a liquor license, so alcohol may be served but not sold on the premises.
